Testimonials and kind words regarding 212 Degrees of Fitness, its staff and head trainer, Jeff Gibbens…

One year ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.  Two months later through a series of events, God led me to CrossFit, the most amazing trainer and a wonderful group of friends.  Through CrossFit I have become stronger, more determined and challenged with each day.  My doctor and I both believe that I have fewer symptoms because of CrossFit and that it has slowed the progression of this disease.  I will be forever grateful.

Besides joining the military, [joining 212 DOF] was the best decision I have ever made.  It is hard to envision my life without you and CrossFit in it.  My life has totally changed in every aspect for the betterment.  Most people don’t understand how unpredictable and unstable the life of a soldier is, and we try to find something stable and secure at home that we can hold on to. It’s not always easy to find, but fortunately, I have found that here at 212.  The gym and the members are really a second family to me, which always makes it harder to leave and amplifies the eagerness to come home.  You have changed my life and so many others, keep doing what you are doing.  Thank you,
~ Carmen Toscano, Captain in the National Guard

I want to thank you for all the effort and work you have put into both me and my children.  I look back to when I began doing CrossFit in June and I realize all of the improvements I have made with all of the various movements.  I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished thanks to 212 DOF, the staff and especially you (Jeff).

I have learned that I’m an athlete and a competitor and that my biggest competition is what’s between my ears. I’ve learned that there is nothing that I cannot accomplish and to take pride in my successes. I have also learned the humility that comes from failing. But, when I fail, I hear your voice in my head telling me, “You’ve gotta fail in order to succeed!”  Becoming a member of this gym was like becoming a member of a family.  212 DOF / CrossFit FBO is my second home and I missed it like crazy when I couldn’t work out. I hope that never happens again and thank you so much for checking in on me when I was out.  You’re a great coach and I am so proud to be a part of this!

Adults aren’t the only ones who appreciate the results they have seen from joining 212 DOF.  Some letters from a few of the gym’s younger members…

I have become quicker going through the holes in football.  I became stronger in the wrestling.  I can hit the baseball farther.  I got a lot more endurance.  I have quicker feet.  Thank you,
~ Jimmy Colvin, Age 10

Going to 212 has helped me greatly because it has made me stronger physically and mentally.  Without [the staff’s] help I don’t think I would have been able to run two miles as fast as I did.  I also think it has helped me greatly in my swimming because whenever I swim, I feel stronger.  I have become so much of a better athlete because of Jeff’s hard work and dedication and I am very grateful.

  1. Im not going to lie, this place may seem intimidating at first, but youll quickly realize how supportive we all are, along with crossfit gyms around the world. You will never have to work out alone again. Not only do you benefit from our trainers, but youll also develop close relationships in the gym which really makes training fun. Were one big family. It encourages everyone to keep coming back which is the hardest thing to do in the beginning. You dont find this at any other gym, everyone here becomes your teammate. People are passionate about 212 degrees of fitness/crossfit fbo for a reason, its up to you to find out what that passion is. The results you see here are unreal. The confidence it brings you will allow you to do things you never thought possible. Youll start to focus less on trying to “look fit” like I used to and more on actually becoming fit.

  2. As I told Jeff & the guys today, this shit kicks my ass & makes me question life.
But I love it, it keeps me going & wanting more. No lies, it’s challenging as hell.
